STEPS is an entirely volunteer-driven organization comprised of retired headmasters, teachers and working professionals. Founders, both Vinaya Reddy and Reddeppa Reddy believe helping the needy is the best way to secure good Karma. They strongly believe providing a solid education to underprivileged students is the most effective way to give back to the society as it not only helps the students but it has a positive effect on those around them. We have a Board of Directors overseeing all the functional areas including local fund raising events, participating in awareness programs, selecting students, helping with student needs (admission, books, tuition fee, etc.), medical camps, and the awareness around importance of giving.
Vinaya Reddy thinks education is the surest path out of poverty. He wanted to bring real and lasting changes to children living in poverty. He has seen children living in poverty have a higher number of absenteeism or leave school all together because they are more likely to have to work or care for family members. In partnership with contributors, he sought to reduce their daily struggles, invest in their potential, and provide them with the opportunity to grow up healthy, educated and prepared to succeed and contribute back to society.
Reddappa Reddy played a vital role in the growth and careers of several students over the past 40 years as a teacher, headmaster and coach. He helped students by providing them the needed coaching and help when he could. After his recent retirement, he thought helping the needy kids was the best way to help the society and next generation.
Since many families in poverty consider education as a luxury, this has motivated him to support basic education to the underprivileged by providing benefits such as school supplies, fees and uniforms. He strongly believes in using education as the channel to cause transformation in the lives of people.
